The Women’s House is a 6 bed women’s recovery residence that is dedicated to helping create sustainable recovery in Shawano County.
Currently, The Women’s House can facilitate the stay of 5 women who are ready to take the next step in their recovery journey. The Women’s House is a fully furnished and managed home where we focus on building sustainable recovery in a low stress and homelike environment.
Our house guidlines are designed to help individuals entering into our resilience residence to navigate early recovery and give them a firm foundation to begin healing using evidenced based practices and trauma informed care.
SR services rural central Wisconsin because it is a greatly underserved population. We focus our efforts throughout several surrounding counties.

Recovery residences provide residents with the opportunity to connect with other people in recovery, which can provide them with much-needed support and encouragement.
Recovery residence techs can teach residents new coping skills to help them manage their cravings and urges to use drugs or alcohol
Recovery residences can help residents to get back on their feet by providing them with help with finding employment, housing, and other essential services
Recovery residences are important for people in recovery from substance use disorders because they provide a safe, supportive, and structured environment in which to rebuild their lives.
Research has shown that recovery residences can be an effective part of the continuum of care for people in recovery from substance use disorders. A study by the National Institute on Drug Abuse found that people who lived in recovery residences were more likely to stay sober and less likely to return to drug use than people who did not live in recovery residences.

I specialize in helping veterans work through post-traumatic stress disorder. And I help clients who struggle with mental health and substance use disorders. I offer the benefits of animal-assisted interventions to my clients’ therapy sessions.

Many years later I finally obtained my Undergraduate degree in Psychology and my Master's in Social Work for Mental Health. I started at CORE as an Intern in the outpatient facility and am currently a counselor at the women’s residential treatment facility. I am passionate about working with clients of all ages from all walks of life, and feel grateful to be able to see the growth and light that clients build for themselves with support and guidance. Much of my way of being is to give others a safe space to be themselves, somewhere they feel seen and heard, which can tend to feel rare for many.
